I am the first to admit that I am a bit of a growth junkie when it comes to always working toward wanting more and aspiring to learn more, so I can give more and be more. But most of the time, personal growth requires that we look at and address what's no longer working or areas that we need to improve in, and while that can be a wonderful tool to get a fire under our butts and get clear on our objectives, too much of a good thing can set us back.
There is a time for introspection and examination. There is a time for getting real with ourselves and taking stock of where we are and where we truly want to be. There is a time for letting go of what no longer works...But there is also a time when it is absolutely imperative that we stop and see ourselves exactly as we are, warts and all... and look lovingly at the qualities that are the essence of our true selves.
Let's face it, there are always going to be things about ourselves that we want to change...like maybe the size of our thighs...or maybe we wish we were braver or had more hair...or maybe we wish we were born into a different family...that's life...but it is WHAT you do with that , that matters...and there ARE personality traits that we were born with that are NO ACCIDENT....making peace with our quirks, idiosyncrasies, and imperfections can actually empower us to grab hold of our perceived "Lemons"
and make some kick ass lemonade ...and serve it up in an authentic, elegant way that nobody else but WE can.
I ask you...when was the last time you made an inventory of things you LOVE about yourself...the things that are undeniably YOU...the threads of your personal tapestry that make your life's art beautiful and special? If it's been a while...I urge you to go within...You were not put on this planet to BE LIKE anybody else...You were not put here to live in the shadow of your greatness. You were not put here to be perfect, or to get everything exactly right.
It is our divine right to embrace the magnificence that is inside us, and find happiness in celebrating our flawed...raw...real uniqueness...only then can we excavate the diamonds within... when we polish our souls...with the tender care and unconditional love that allows their true brilliance to shine forth. :)
